That was the case with one of our most recent jobs: a large format graphic that emulates Chagall’s stained glass work in a colorful commemoration of Passover. About the Project
Marc Chagall was a 20th Century French painter known for his multicolored works, vivid imagination, and use of stained glass, a technique few painters attempt, given how different it is from traditional painting on canvas.
The main goal of this project was to transform a restaurant’s glass wall for Passover by creating a graphic that emulates Chagall’s stained glass work.
This was a fitting choice since religion was a recurring theme in Chagall’s art. And although emulating the work of a great master is a tall order, at CR&A Custom we love a good challenge.
The result is an imposing 32×8 ft. graphic that evokes Chagall’s work through the employment of bright colors and long curves that convey a sense of breathtaking movement, one of the painters’ hallmarks.
Since the image was digitally printed on styrene, a durable and lightweight material, it can be reused.
Plus, the graphic takes up only a small amount of space when in storage, allowing the owners of the restaurant to create a unique ambience for many Passovers to come.
