In Los Angeles, everything is visual. Even temporary walls become part of the city’s landscape. What most people see as plain barricades, CR&A Custom sees as blank canvases for storytelling. From new retail buildouts in Santa Monica to outdoor festivals in Orange County, barricade walls are being turned into massive branded displays that connect with the public and drive awareness long before a store or event even opens.
Barricade walls secure construction zones, guide foot traffic, and define event perimeters. But when they’re covered with custom graphics, they also become advertising space that works around the clock. CR&A Custom has helped brands like Lululemon, Netflix, Nudestix, and Nike use large-format printing to transform these barriers into high-visibility, photo-worthy installations.
Turning Functional Barriers into Visual Storytelling
When Lululemon opened a new Los Angeles location, CR&A produced a full brick-wall wrap using 3M rough-wrap vinyl for the campaign “Live Like Summer Won’t Last Forever.” The vinyl followed every contour of the brick, giving it a painted-on look that still turned heads months later. At another event, CR&A worked with Nudestix to launch their Nudestix Skin line with branded barricade walls that matched the brand’s minimal, earthy aesthetic, soft tones, smooth finishes, and perfect lighting for social media photos. Brands Making an Impact with Barricade Walls around Los Angeles
Barricade walls can be printed on several types of materials depending on the location, duration, and the look you’re going for. CR&A’s large-format printing and installation teams handle all of it, from material selection to city permitting.
When a barricade wall is built from rigid material like plywood, CR&A prints directly onto adhesive vinyl panels and laminates them for a smooth, long-lasting finish. This approach is ideal for longer projects, like extended store renovations or property development sites, where the walls may stay up for several months.
CR&A Custom produced the barricade wall graphics for the new Roberto Cavalli store at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. The project required a refined, high-end presentation that reflected Cavalli’s signature luxury. CR&A printed and installed vibrant, fashion-forward graphics announcing the return of the iconic Italian label. The construction barricade transformed into a striking visual statement that matched the prestige of the brand and the location.

We were also delighted to print and install the barricade wall graphics for the new Sambazon location in the Ackerman Union at UCLA. The project helped build anticipation ahead of the store’s grand opening, which was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA). The large-format graphics showcased Sambazon’s vibrant brand colors and commitment to sustainable, organic açaí products, bringing energy and visual appeal to the busy campus location during the pre-launch period.

Another project we really enjoyed producing and installing was the barricade wall graphics for the Jean Dousset store on West La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood. The project set the tone for the brand’s first-ever physical location. The large-format printed wall reflected the designer’s refined aesthetic and the store’s concept. The graphics helped introduce the boutique’s identity ahead of its debut, where visitors could experience Jean Dousset’s lab-grown diamond collections and high jewelry pieces in a space that mirrored the artistry behind each design.

A particularly fun large format project was the barricade wall for the construction of the Westwood/UCLA D-Line Extension, part of Los Angeles Metro’s ongoing expansion to improve connectivity across the city. The large-format graphics provided both visual appeal and informative messaging around the project site, helping to maintain a clean, professional appearance in a high-traffic area near UCLA. The printed barricade walls transformed a typical construction zone into a well-branded, informative space that kept pedestrians engaged while the vital transit extension took shape.

Mesh and Perforated Barricade Banners for Outdoor Projects
Mesh and perforated vinyl banners are another option, especially for windy outdoor locations. These allow airflow while still showing clear printed imagery, which is ideal for construction sites or large public events. They’re common across the Los Angeles area where real estate developments and event setups need both visibility and safety..
Sustainable and Reusable Options
Sustainability plays a growing role in how brands use barricade walls. CR&A offers reusable fabric sleeves and modular panels that can be repurposed from one event to another, cutting waste and material costs. It’s part of our broader commitment to eco-friendly printing and installation practices.
Designing for Maximum Impact
Good barricade wall design starts with clear messaging and an understanding of scale. Fonts need to be legible from a distance, and colors should hold up under different lighting. CR&A’s design and project management teams work with brands and property owners to ensure each installation meets visual goals and local regulations. That includes color matching, UV protection, and city permitting when required.
Why Brands Across California Choose CR&A Custom
For brands in California’s busiest environments, like downtown Los Angeles, West Hollywood, or Santa Monica, barricade walls are more than just a practical necessity. They’re a form of environmental storytelling. They build anticipation before a store opens, keep audiences engaged during construction, and reinforce brand identity in places where people already spend their time.
CR&A Custom has built its reputation by producing large-format graphics that look great and last, no matter the conditions. From retail barricades and construction wraps to experiential event walls, our work blends printing expertise with creative execution.
Barricade walls aren’t just barriers. They’re part of the story brands tell. When designed and produced with purpose, they capture attention, create excitement, and turn everyday city spaces into something worth looking at.
