When Snapchat rolled out its bold new “Say It In a Snap” campaign in the summer of 2025, the message was clear: fast, authentic communication is still the heartbeat of digital culture. To launch this creative refresh, Snap went beyond screens and took its message straight to the streets, starting with a massive building banner in the heart of Venice Beach.
And when they needed a trusted large format printing partner to produce and install the banner? They turned to CR&A Custom.
In July 2025, CR&A Custom helped bring Snapchat’s campaign to life in a big way, with a multi-story building banner that anchored the brand’s physical presence in one of LA’s most iconic neighborhoods. Located just steps from the Venice boardwalk, this banner became more than just an ad—it became a live piece of the campaign itself.
Here’s how CR&A helped Snapchat say it loud, say it proud, and “Say It In a Snap.”
The Campaign: Say It In a Snap
Unveiled during NewFronts 2025, Snapchat’s “Say It In a Snap” campaign focused on the speed, spontaneity, and visual punch that have made Snap a favorite among Gen Z and younger Millennials. The campaign rolled out across digital, broadcast, and—thanks to CR&A Custom—real-world outdoor placements like the Venice Beach building banner.
Snap’s team developed eye-catching visuals for the campaign that featured Bitmoji expressions, AR-inspired icons, and vibrant messaging to highlight the platform’s suite of fast, expressive features: Snaps, Chat, Stories, and more. Venice Beach was the perfect place to debut the vibe: artsy, energetic, youthful, and undeniably social.
The Location: Venice Beach in Summer
Venice Beach is a high-traffic cultural hotspot where art, youth, and tech collide. For Snapchat, launching a banner here was about context. The people walking by, skating past, snapping selfies, and shooting video on the boardwalk? They are the audience. This location gave the campaign a real-world touchpoint with the people who live on their phones but look up when something grabs their attention. And that’s exactly what the banner did.
The Execution: From Files to Facade
CR&A Custom handled everything from prepress to final installation, turning Snapchat’s digital artwork into a giant, high-resolution banner that spanned the front of a prominent building on Pacific Avenue.
Here’s how we made it happen:
1. Vibrant Large Format Printing
Snap’s campaign visuals rely on bold color, playful icons, and expressive design elements, all of which need to translate seamlessly at building scale. Our team printed the banner on premium mesh vinyl using UV-resistant inks, allowing the colors to stay vibrant even in the harsh LA sun. Mesh vinyl also reduced wind load while maintaining a clean, solid appearance from street level.

2. Specialized Finishing for Coastal Install
Venice Beach comes with challenges: salt air, heavy foot traffic, and high wind exposure. CR&A’s finishing team fabricated the banner with reinforced hems, perimeter grommets, and precision-cut wind slits to ensure long-term durability. The banner was sectioned for handling ease and stitched with industrial-strength seams to maintain graphic continuity.
3. Permitting, Planning & Installation
Large format banners don’t just go up overnight—unless you have a team like ours. We managed the full site survey, city scheduling coordination, and multi-crew installation. The final install was completed on schedule with minimal disruption to the public and the building’s tenants. This is no small feat in Venice Beach in July.
Why This Banner Mattered
The Snapchat Venice banner was a visual anchor for a campaign designed to reintroduce the brand’s personality in real-world terms. “Say It In a Snap” is all about immediacy and emotional impact, and this banner embodied that.
Passersby stopped to take photos. Influencers used the building as a backdrop for content. Locals and tourists alike shared it on social. It generated engagement, because when bold design meets smart placement, physical graphics can generate as much buzz as digital media.
